Roasted according to an ancient Japanese method.

The ceramics are finished firing in an excess of oxygen. This reduces the ceramics, turns the clay black and gives the glaze its special glow.

During firing, the ceramic is exposed to rapid temperature changes and acquires its decorative cracks.

You cannot be sure that raku fired ceramics are waterproof. It is therefore not recommended for food.
