Kalevala Arabia year plate 1987, designed by Raija Uosikkinen. The matt glazed stoneware wall plate is featuring a scene from Kalevala, the Finnish national epic story. Limited edition, made in Finland by the famous ARABIA factory.

Excellent condition. On the back of the plate there is a metal wire to hang it on the wall.

The KALEVALA annual plates have been in production by Arabia since 1976 and continued for 24 years, until 1999. Each year, a different plate was designed and produced in a limited edition. The plates are designed by Raija Uosikkinen and commemorate the Kalevala legend, the national epic of Finland. On the back of the plate one can find the respective abstract of the Kalevala in English, Finnish and Swedish, which is illustrated on the plate. The plates are highly collectible and the first edition has become very rare nowadays.
