Barry Lereng Wilmont (born January 17, 1936 in East St. Paul, Manitoba , Canada ), is a Danish-Canadian artist , educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen at the School of Sculpture under Professor Mogens Bøggild 1966-69 and at the School of Wall and Space under Professor Dan Sterup-Hansen 1969-72. Granted Danish citizenship in 1971.
In Copenhagen he has exhibited at the Kunstforeningen on Gl. Strand 1977. Henrik Kampmann's Gallery 1980, 1981 and 2005, and in 1984 at Sofienholm (Goethe in Kongo) in Lyngby .
Among the decorative works are: the Panum Institute, a 15 m × 3 m polychrome relief Wild Boar Hunt, executed in 1999-2000, and the Basin in white and blue in the Klostergården passage in Copenhagen, and the Cimbrian Frieze, a polychrome relief 10 m × 2.80 m for Skødstrup School in Jutland.
Stained glass window (2 m × 6 m) Figures in Archaic Landscape and 15 paintings No Way Back to Vingstedcentret, Vejle.
He has been presented in Danish and foreign museums and has his own publishing house, Pavillon Neuf.
Private Press published graphic special editions. He has received grants from Mogens Poulsen's Memorial Grant, the August Stinus Foundation, the Brandt Brandtved Foundation, Henry Heerup's Honorary Grant , [5] the Danish Writers' Association's Travel Grant, the Consul George Jorck & Wife Emma Jorck's Grant , the Professor, sculptor Gotfred Eickhoff and wife, painter Gerda Eickhoff's Foundation, the Wholesaler LF Foght's Foundation, and in 2017 he received the Association for Book Crafts' Certificate of Honor for his book publications.
